Financial Statement Analysis as applied to Islamic Banks

Abstract
The financial statements of Islamic banks are very different from those of conventional banks. Data is provided here for a cross section of banks from the Islamic banking world. Case participants are asked to analyse the Islamic financial statements drawing out the differences from conventional bank statements. They are then asked to analyse the differences between Islamic accounting statements within different Islamic countries.
This case study can be purchased from the author at a cost of $30 plus p&p. Note that they are designed to raise awareness of specific issues in Islamic finance. The cases come with case questions and it is expected that the instructor provides the solutions.
